colour families

exchange “colours” for “persons” and you have families of colours
these are some of my yummy families !
don’t often wear teal, but like it – top left is raw silk print, middle right challis gifted to friend Karen, and bottom left is rayon… spring is coming!
this is a vintage shawl which has a few holes, unfortunately; have a similar one in black, also with holes – drat!
top right became a dress last summer, middle left is challis, bottom right is crinkle challis – more summer fun!
A large paint company in the U.S. has organized their families of colours into reds, oranges, warm neutrals, whites, yellows, greens, blues, violets, and cool neutrals.
There’s always the famous colour wheel, but did you know there are many colour wheels? Starting from about the 16th century, going right up to current HTML colour “keywords” (names). Check out this Wikipedia article.
