sunday sevens #19

same hydrangeas now

taken tuesday; today (sunday) they looked faded and more pinkish than blue. i love the deep blues!

Note: updates after the loud thunderstorm passed.

Here are photos for the week, and a note that BBC’s The Great British Sewing Bee‘s fourth season has started, with 3 episodes viewed by yours truly thus far.

Do a search on YouTube if you’re interested in watching BGSB. Unfortunately, this gets pulled off so frequently, I daren’t list any links. My apologies!

Natalie of Threads and Bobbins came up with the idea of Sunday Sevens. Anyone can join in, and you don’t have to do a post every Sunday or have 7 photos. Perfect for weeks when life happens.

Whoops! Thunder now starting . . . will return when it’s over!

Later ~

Luckily, it didn’t last too long, but was torrential for a few minutes. Our third day of above 90℉ weather. Yuck.

Discovered The Durrells from ITV this past week (courtesy of YouTube again) and enjoyed the 6 episodes so much am watching them over. Wish we could get more British programmes over here!

Speaking of Blighty, the lovely Anne sent beautiful linens along with the shweshwe. As I’m loath to line, maybe I could get away with sleeveless blouses.  Photos are below ~ think they need lining?

They’re both 54″ wide, 1¼ yds (green) & 1½ yds (beige). Any pattern suggestions?

Glad to hear that the storms passed…ours are due this week, along with the pressure from this tropical storm that’s supposed to be happening! :-/ That picture of your dinner looks yummy! I’m one for not lining and wearing a vest/cami if it’s too see through!

Hope all goes well for you weather-wise. How are you holding up with the South’s heat & humidity? Quite different from Blighty. I like your idea of the cami, and need to pull out a pattern that might work as either a blouse or jacket (cami underneath) & check yardage. Thank you!

Lucky you with the linen! As you probably know, I LOVE linen and have made loads of clothes from it. My latest is a double layer top in three colours using up the leftovers from other projects. You could make a double layer top using both linens if the weave is a bit loose and see through?

Thank you, Sheila! Realize my photos might have given a wrong impression: weave is not loose; I was doing a closeup to show the lamp beyond. Look forward to seeing your linen combo.
