Slo-o-o-wly I’ve been working on adjusting the pattern for my first Grainline Morris blazer to go with my stretchy denim midi skirt (you might remember the pockets here)
From measuring off a favourite RTW jacket I’ve used a size 10 shoulder, tapering out to a 14 around the armhole.
Does that sound weird? Would you do it another way?? Suggestions gratefully accepted!
I measured for a FBA and keep coming up with a 2” difference, which doesn’t require it, so haven’t tried one.
My saving grace is extra fabric. If I can remember to use basting stitches and something needs to be re-cut, I should be able to do it easily.
If life will just leave me alone long enough to finish tracing these pattern pieces . . .
Life, hey! Always has a habit of getting in the way… Looking forward to seeing it, but don’t rush, you’ll get there eventually 🙂

Thank you, Teresa! Yep, am ploughing steadily onward, despite other distractions… By the way, I sent you an email the other day. At least I think I did. This computer’s been wonky but am hoping the memory I just added will solve the problems. (All except the user ones. Lol! 😉)

Ohhh, thanks for the prompt. I’m rubbish at checking my ‘craft’ email… I’ll take a look tonight and get back to you 🙂

Thanks so much, Jen. Doing my best down here. How’re you doing up there? Last week’s tornadoes didn’t creep into your state, did they? Hope husband is doing better every day, and your mum is adjusting to her new location. 💕💕

We’re doing fine, expecting more snow, but no tornadoes. And husband is coming along with his crutches and mama seems to be enjoying herself very much! (She will be enjoying it even more when the weather warms up and we can go out and play. 😀 )

Glad everyone’s progressing, but not that snow total! I wondered if you’d be out & about much in winter. Know when I was in the Midwest, the winter weather really cut down my long walks.

Thanks Del! I truly should get out more, but sheesh I’m such a warm weather girl (sissy la la). And my mom is really unsteady, so no slippery surfaces for her. But spring is right around the corner! 😀

I’d agree about slippery surfaces just on general principles! Do you get a lot of wind there? Am beginning to find it’s very gusty round here, which makes walking none too pleasant. Illinois was more steady winds, which didn’t seem so bad… just impossible to wear brimmed hats!

Oh yes, that cold wind can be brutal. And my mom is so tiny, I’m sure it could knock her over. But the ice, that is killer, does one ever get accustomed to it? Not me! 😮

I haven’t got accustomed to ice, that’s for sure. Agree that if your mum’s tiny, best she stay out of winds! How were her/your pancakes (is that what they’re called?)

Welsh cakes. Still to be made….out of sugar, as it happens. Heading to market shortly, so hopefully some very soon!

Thank you, Naomi, although am not certain how much you might learn! Not feeling too knowledgeable just now. 😳

Thank you – would really covet your mustard Morris, if I were (quite) a few sizes smaller. 😉
