double challenges: angular & colourful

colourful!

colourful 100% polyester fabric

Whilst last week was devoid of blogging, it wasn’t devoid of sewing. Repairs didn’t have writer appeal, but I did do a couple of other things.

In addition to repairs, 2 pieces of merino wool (from The Fabric Store-LA) got laundered. And Style Arc’s Laura Jacket pattern got readied. But the front shoulder-to-collar section has me a bit puzzled, and definitely wanting to sew a stash-fabric sample before cutting into any wool.

Looking half-heartedly through stash didn’t yield a likely fabric, but I re-discovered a colourful 100% poly (see left). I rarely buy non-natural fabrics, but these colours made me smile, and the price was under $5.  Double   🙂   🙂

When considering this week’s WordPress photo challenge, that unusual pattern piece immediately came to mind (below). And the poly fabric fits Ailsa’s Travel Theme beautifully. In the double vein, am submitting this post for both. Another double. He-he!

that deep V on the left somehow attaches the collar … gotta try it to believe it!
